A Fresh Face for 2008

By Cyndi Boyd

Trends in makeup for 2008 continue to be more natural and subdued focusing on dramatic eyes or lovely lips, but not both! Gone are the days of thick foundations and overdone cheek bones.

Less is definitely more with soft glowing powder foundations, especially the mineral type, enhancing your natural colors with neutral blushes. Forget those fake tans! Go for the real you! If you still want a bit more color try the powder bronzers for that refined metallic glow!

Eye shadows in neutral shades of taupe, bronze, and brown are still popular, but try popping them with a shot of color for fun if you dare! The latest combos are in the steel blue shades with overtones of silver! Try your brushed metallic or colorful options in powder or liquid at the base of the lash line… pencils are passé.

Lashes and brows are getting fuller and sexier, but not fake! Get that lush look on your lashes with one of the great mascaras out there but no clumps! For a more permanent look, go for the lash extensions! Brows should be brushed and more polished.

Subtle yet sexy lips in neutrals and pinks still go great with those bedroom eyes… but if lips are your strong point, downplay the eyes and go with that luscious red or if you are daring – a bright succulent orange for your lips! Gloss is a favorite over lined lips especially with the fantastic array available!

Whatever your personality, let your own style shine through!
