Top 5 Scarves for Winter

Top 5 Scarves for Winter: Classic. Trendy. Printed. Chunky & Comfy.

Never before has staying warm been so cool, so fashionable, and so the thing to do as it is this year. And since there’s really no wrong wear to wear a scarf it would be almost impossible to mess it up. I would say 8 out of 10 of your most popular celebrities right now have been spotted rocking all types of scarves in many creative and funky ways in everything from plaid to neon fringed numbers. Names high on the paparazzi lists like Rihanna, Gwen Stefani, Kate Moss, Jessica Alba, Lauren Conrad, Mary-Kate Olsen, Britney Spears and even some guys such as Usher, Neyo, Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z, Kanye West & Chris Brown have all been photographed in this seasons hottest accessory. I myself am a very big scarf fanatic. I have collected scarves from quite a few places like L.A., N.Y.C., Paris, Phoenix, Syracuse, Washington D.C., Minneapolis and even in super hot Palm Springs where I managed to buy a scarf- a thin one of course.

Scarves create warmth and provide comfort while adding that extra “something’ to an outfit that would be lacking otherwise. The power of a scarf can turn your plainest outfit into any and everything your scarf wearing self desires. Be as CLASSIC as Audrey Hepburn in a cashmere scarf in jet black or give the people what they want and wow them with a pashmina in a bright and beautiful violet. Create an US Magazine TRENDY look by adding a big bold red and black large plaid printed scarf to black jeans and a grey T(shirt). Stop traffic or at least foot traffic with a nice floral PRINT or neon colored fringed piece draped around your shoulders and if you really want to throw in some razzmatazz, throw on some big frames (glasses that is) and make room for all jaws to hit the floor.
Now, if you wear your scarves for warmth purposes only, large CHUNKY knit scarves are always a great pick. I’ve found some really thick & long scarves at H&M. And lastly, the COMFY COMFY COMFY. In my opinion, all scarves are comfy but for the non scarf enthusiasts, make sure you really get a feel for your scarf of choice before you buy. Try it on- it won’t hurt and if it does, take it off, put it back down and slowly step away from the display. Don’t let your scarf wearing experience ring your neck!
