I don’t get it either, but we women seem to have an addiction to shoes. For some reason we need to just buy and buy and buy even if we have nothing to wear with them. Well here’s an idea…build your outfit around your shoes instead of getting shoes to complement your outfit. I’m sure you have that fun pair hiding in your closet that are too loud or too fun for most of your outfits. So when trying to show off your kicks, I say go simple everywhere else. For flats, basic skinny jeans will show off the shoes
better than a flare or wide leg. For boots tuck in your pants and make the shoes center of attention. When choosing a top pick something basic and fitted. Make sure it is not too garish since you don’t want overpower your super cute shoes with a flashy top. If your shoes are bright go with a neutral color, black, brown, or grey. Maybe even find a top that matches the color of the shoes, or are in the same color family (greens with greens, blues with blues etc.) If your shoes have a pointed toe and a heel they’ll look hot with a flare or wide leg pant. It has been cold and raining out so I might suggest showing off some leather boots with some leggings tucked into them. (Leggings dry off much quicker than jeans do!) If you must wear suede make sure to scotch guard it first.

Please don’t…
Wear boots that don’t work with your proportions. Try on the boots first and if they make your legs look short, don’t get them. Either try a boot that is taller or shorter than the ones that don’t look right. If you go for a shorter boot try one that is wider around your leg. With a taller boot you can wear one that is either wide on your leg or fitted.
