“I fell in love with fashion at the age of 6! ”
Falling in love with fashion at the age of six, Renee, A Chicago native, started her fashion addiction at local thrift stores titled ‘Village Discount Outlets’. She discovered cutting, sewing, matching, and pairing several different fashion genres together, creating her unique and always talked about creative style. She simultaneously mixed thrift with high-end and local designer gear. While friends were on spring break at such places as Cancun and Miami, Renee was on flights to New York City. Both for inspiration and friends in the industry, she found this was the place that made her tick. It’s been a second home ever since.
Her interests in film, fashion, art, and nightlife culture both in Chicago and NYC, inspired her to celebrate. She meshed it all together and began a six-year adventure at Le Passage that would leave her and most of Chicago satisfied. She produced, hosted, and promoted numerous events that praised and celebrated local and internationally acclaimed artists, designers, musicians, filmmakers, dj’s, authors and photographers. She did this for people and entities like major photographer Patrick McMullan, DJ Duo Hedkandi, NYC socialite Susanne Bartsch, GenArt, and Nikki Harris to name a few.
She also started writing fashion columns for Chicago Scene Magazine, an entity launched from Chicagoscene.com who also worked with her on events. The six year adventure was done, so she bounced to L.A. while a buyer for downtown Chicago boutique NYLA. Immediately upon arriving, she started designing for an L.A. based clothing line, Artine. Renee put together their women’s line in two weeks that was a hit at the Magic Show in Las Vegas and nationwide/international stores. Running the design studio on all major levels like production to traveling to trade shows to P.R., she left with her mission accomplished: inspiration well done.
Renee currently consults designers, local L.A. showrooms, is designing her very own belt line, and with excitement and raw, natural creativity, she is also now an online stylist for myinstantfashion.com.
