My name is Stefania and I am an Italian designer living in Los Angeles, California. I have worked for several junior and urban lines locally and am now trying to have my own. I named my line Kalikloth after the Hindu deity of transformation. I re-invent clothes for the fashion-conscious woman. Nothing is lost. The past is just another source of inspiration. I give vintage clothes a "face lift", as well as make clothes that are re-constructed by combining luxurious and/or vintage fabrics, with ready-to-wear garments, and sometimes with costume jewelry. I like to transform the "boring" into a "must-have". Each piece is unique, a one-of-a-kind treasure.

In fashion, more often [...]

Rock ‘n’ Tote

There are very few things that delight my fashionista eyes more than witnessing something ordinarily associated with the masculine and the tough trades  crawl out of the cocoon and redeem itself into an extraordinary butterfly.
I apologize for the exaggerated metaphor. However, I stand in awe every time a designer presents a collection around such themes [...]

How to be Hippie on a Budget

If you are fortunate enough, like me, to live in Southern California, or perhaps in Florida, you can but not rejoice at the occasional fashion revival of the hippie era. I am not talking about unkempt long hair, flashing boobs and making out on the streets of san Francisco whilst caressing your bong with [...]
